The craftsmen at Broman Design and Construction really value working with clients who have a strong sense of design, such as the Easleys. Their home was featured on the Heights Historic Home Tour in 1998 after we completely remodeled the home in 1997. This
Houston Heights bungalow was completely
restored with custom Arts and Crafts
details, including custom birch cabinetry,
paneling, historic wallcovering and
painted finishes.
The home was moved forward on the
lot 13 feet to accomodate a 2 story garage
with living quarters above.

The
roof was raised to include 2 bedrooms and
2 baths, as well as a sewing room , and a
home office and library upstairs. In the
kitchen ,we custom built birch plywood
cabinets with granite countertops.

The
Living /Dining room features all sorts of
custom woodwork: block paneling, built in
cabinets, and coffered ceilings. Adding
some period style, the owners chose several
historic wallcoverings and painted
finishes to compliment the Arts and Crafts
design of the house. And then completing
the total renovation, the Easleys planned
extensive landscaping to include brick
walkways and patios that coördinate
with new porches and wrought iron
fencing.
